Field trip report- Visiting Studio Classroom

It was a beautiful afternoon; we went to our first field trip to the Studio Classroom, which is located in Dazhi. I’ve been there once before with NTNU winter camp, but totally different reflections I got in this trip.

As we got there, we were taken into a briefing room for a short film about the history of Studio Classroom and how it became a household name for students in Taiwan. In the very beginning, it was just a small radio station and published only several pieces of paper for students to read. But decades later, it has already expanded to the biggest English educational magazine company. Now you can also watch it on TV, internet and also on your cell phone and iPod.

After the film, Miss Chang, our guide today, had some questions and gifts for us. I also realized that running a company is not easy; you have to put all your effort on it and know what your customers need. And also, keeping upgrading the equipment and skills is important. But I believe Studio Classroom has done a great job in this part.

Next, we went to the studio to find out how a program was made and we also took some photos with Camble and Hazel, the staff of Studio Classroom. It was a very special experience to meet the teachers only appeared on TV.

Then, we were led to the recording room to see how to record and edit a voice file. We were impressed by all the important equipment Studio Classroom has. After all the visiting, we went back to the briefing room to have some interaction with Steve and Liz, the teacher of Studio Classroom. We played some interesting games like bingo. I won the game so I got a key chain with the mark of Studio Classroom, an owl, as a reward.

I had a great time in Studio Classroom with all the friendly teachers and staff. It is just like a big family. I hope I will be part of them and teach English with them. It was a nice trip and I’m happy to meet new friends.
